Take This Seat Home
It was opening night for Phaedra’s Love. There were many adjustments to make before it started. Whenever I said anything to Nerida she would respond, “That’s not the way you talk to an actor.” Stewart turned up really stoned. He was bumping into everything, getting in everyone’s way. I angrily told him to leave.
After a few minutes, I went to the audience area to see if he was there. He was. He was sitting in front of some of his friends. There was a ripped seat beside him. I said, “Look, Stewart, I really don’t mind you having a little weed, but you can’t turn up stoned to my shows.” He said that’s it’s okay and apologised. “Do you want me to take this seat home and fix it?” he asked. I said that would be great.
I knew I was late for the Karenin show under the bridge because I could hear Mike’s guitar. Koji was checking the sound with sushi. The only audience was a homeless guy. I think the only reason he was there was because we set up where he usually slept.
Sounds like a flight of the conchords gig
