The City Must Have Been Power Saving

I ran into Shinako before rehearsal. We were near Our Space. It was quite dark. I thought that the city must have been saving power. She didn’t want to look into my eyes.

“I don’t want to do the play anymore,” she said, “you make me uncomfortable. I don’t want to work with you again.”

I wanted to apologize and ask her to reconsider, but nothing came out. She walked off toward Shinjuku.
